Li-Fi is a visible light, infra red communication technology, i.e., it belongs to Optical Wireless Communication. Line of Sight applications can use Li-Fi, and also Li-Fi has very less interference problem from other Li-Fi devices, because it can not overlap.

WiFi: Only one access point or wireless router is enough for whole home for connectivity, because it can reach devices which are not in line of sight.

Li-Fi is much faster than Wi-Fi but limited to the direction and area.

Hence, we can visualize that  in future Li-Fi will have its own application, and Wi-Fi will have its own application, both together will make our life easier with respect to connectivity. 

Mostly Li-Fi will be at home or office and Wi-Fi will be at road, cafe and restaurants.
Because at home we can plan and place the devices and direct , outside add hoc places, Wi-Fi work very well.
 If some abstacle comes inbetween, Li Fi may not work, Wi- Fi continues to work.
